Learning to identify birdsong by ear can be a satisfying skill for anyone who has interest in birds and nature. In this audio collection, birdsong recordist Rob Porter introduces you to 16 songs found commonly in the core of eastern North America.

For each species there is a short introduction, followed by around 20 minutes of lightly edited field recordings that focus on the featured species.

During the Early Access period the price of this collection will be reduced, purchasers will get access to the final product at no extra cost. All core aspects of the collection will be present, but it will lack appendices. The author may also update some of the field recordings up until the release date.

Listeners who purchase through Itch.io will have these options: Audiobook (M4B in 128 kbps or 256 kbps), and MP3 (320 kbps). Lossless FLAC files might be produced for the final release if there is interest. Please reach out if this is something you would like to see.

This collection will be also be sold in the future as an audiobook via distributors such as Audible, but that edition will be subject to the audio standards of the industry, which will cause some degradation to the nature field recordings in order to meet the minimum loudness required to pass technical tests that the distributors impose. This means that the edition distributed here will be the highest quality available and free of artificial distortion.
